Perhaps your gaze is tired of always being right, and perhaps your hand already knows too well what to do. Sguardo Lento Experience is not an en plein air painting opportunity, nor is it a luxury cultural tour. It is a cognitive and perceptual reactivation program designed for artists who already have a voice, but feel the need to rediscover silence, a deep reassessment, and a readiness to look deeper into their processes, imagery, and visual narratives. "The artist does not capture time or space: they surrender to it."

 

For the Spring 2027 edition, we are presenting the extended 10-day format. You will spend the first days in a true shared studio experience at Villa Elvira, a 1931 private residence nestled in an olive grove less than a mile from the medieval center and overlooking the Siena Cathedral. Here, we will explore agile techniques like cyanotype, outdoor watercolor, and illustrated diaries , alternating practical work with the observation of Duccio's masterpieces or the open-air architecture of the Abbey of San Galgano. The evenings are the space where the experience turns into shared thought , addressing the doubts of artistic practice and the challenges of contemporary art around a convivial table.

 

The journey continues with a 3-day, 2-night Premium extension heading south into the Maremma region. We will discover a harsher and wilder Tuscany , crossing the waters of the Terme di Saturnia and the Sovana Necropolis , until we reach the marine light and wind of Monte Argentario to broaden the gaze and the breath of your work. You don't come here to produce; you come here to return to seeing.
